Forever in our Hearts Grandma

Born in 1924,my grandmother lived for 90years until she left us-sometimes I wish time travel was actually real,I would love to see how the world looked like in those years.we really miss Her,the moments ,both Good and ...well,sometimes 'irritating' .

She was very hardworking, this was evidenced by the bumper harvests and Generally in every thing she was involved in.
She never drunk unboiled water, even rain water had to go through some purification!, you would even buy her bottled water and still boil it. Maybe it's because she was saved and always wanted to make her ways pure.
Her salvation was so much embedded in her that she said it publicly ,first thing before giving out any speech, she even quoted the date and year-thats how Early Christianity was serious, they were taught on the evil and bad ,what to eat and not to eat, what to drink and not drink, and that's how Christianity was like.

My Shosh was a staunch believer in the phrase that,'children should always respect and obey their elders, anytime' so ,she would test that to us anytime, anywhere.when we would have our friends coming for a visit, for example, and she was busy in the kitchen, she would call out loudly,'mativa, uka unenge munyu uu wivaa kando yakwa' (Matiba, come give me the salt shaker besides me!) ,like seriously!, si uchukue tu kama iko kando yako!!!,so you just walk complaining and you get it for her,and she should not see you frown!

Even on sundays if you meet at the market-you see on Sundays is the only day you will be free from school and that's the only chance you will have to hang around and be in your Sunday best,it also depended Whether the herds boy came that day,and mind you if she sees you there,so you had to her position dictated your next move, and she must find you at home! just imagine ,We had no freedom of movement. So just in case if she spot you, regardless of who you are with!,she would come directly to you and ask you if you've 'shifted' the cows!. She didn't have chills.

She was a good cook .she knew how to Cook nice African foods. We would all sit and enjoy her delicacies. Milk was also in plenty.

We miss you shosh! Rest in Peace.
