In 2017, PSG bowed out of the competition after a defeat by Barcelona. This was one of a lifetime match which Barcelona overturned a four nil lead to a thrilling 6 goal extravaganza at Camp Nou. The famous MSN was at its prime and although formidable, salvaging a whole four-goal lead was beyond imagination. Real Madrd won the UCL that year.

2018/2019 was also a season which preceded its expectations. The knock outs were equally dramatic as well as entertaining. The away-goal rule came in handy and the final whistle confirmed disappointing moments which wrote indelible memories on the players and fanatics in equal measure. I will recap Manchester united's Unlikely win against PSG, Tottenham's win against Man city and Ajax, and the ultimate Liverpool's win against Barcelona. These are events which still embedded fresh in some of us and forever they will be. Despite the away-goal rule being abolished, we still have memories to keep!.

May 2022, We witnessed one of the most unprecedented yet entertaining football moments in football history. A ferocious Man city was so determined to participate in this year's final with the hope of banging two major trophies year. After scoring an early goal, this ensured a two goal difference and put them at the very best chance of securing a win. The tactician, Mr. Pep even subbed in defensive players to mitigate the constant attacks from Madrid. He even ensured more dominance of the ball and the possession to deprive Madrid of any chance of leveraging. This is what every sound coach would have done.

Real Madrid lies at the top as the club with the most Champions league titles making it the most experienced and arguably the most dreaded. Man city, who have never won this competition nor reaching the final had the zeal but lacked resilience. mentally they had already qualified until shock befell them. Albeit being one of the best team in England, City's campaign in the UCL has not beard any fruit - something teams like Nottingham forest and Aston villa have already accomplished.

Pep likes build-up style of play and his obsession with  possession gives opponent teams a hard time as they keep chasing for the ball. With a wide variety of attacking midfielders who got sublime ball handling techniques, he has mastered the art of creating goal scoring opportunities and thus making him one of best gaffers of all time. Ancelloti is rather a calm and nonchalant coach who is also a master of this craft. With so many accolades under his name, also having won this year's Laliga title, he is the only coach to win domestic titles across the five major leagues in Europe.

This particular fixture proved why the two are best at what they do. After a defensive tactical approach in the second half, City's hope was alive and burning. It was until the added time when Madrid's super substitute scored two goals equaling Man city's goal aggregate. The match went on to extra time and only a goal was needed by either team to break the stalemate. Benzema's goal from the spot kick was the final blow to Man city and shattered any shred of hope rendering the Pep's men helpless. Madrid thereafter booked a place in this year's UCL final.

We gear up for the finals late this May with so much anticipation for a very thrilling final. Liverpool will be seeking a revenge after losing to Madrid in Kyiv 2018. Madrid will come prepared and definitely up for the task. LET'S MEET THERE!.
